Ruto gazettes appointment of 19 CSs ahead of Thursday's oath-taking
The swearing-in ceremony for the 19 appointed Cabinet Secretaries will take place on Thursday at State House from 9 am.
President William Ruto has appointed 19 Cabinet Secretaries approved by the National Assembly. The names of the appointed officials were published in the Kenya Gazette on Wednesday night.
The confirmation of these appointments was made by State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on his X account. "President Ruto has appointed the nineteen Cabinet Secretaries approved by parliament."

The approved Cabinet Secretaries include Aden Duale for Environment, Kithure Kindiki for Interior, Alice Wahome for Lands, Alfred Mutua for Labour, Salim Mvurya for Trade, Justin Muturi for Public Service, Soipan Tuya for Defence, Kipchumba Murkomen for Sports, Davis Chirchir for Roads and Transport, and Rebecca Miano for Wildlife and Tourism.
Additionally, the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula-led committee approved Dr. Debra Mulongo Barasa for Health, Julius Migosi Ogamba for Education, Andrew Mwihia Karanja for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Eric Muriithi Muuga for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, and Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u for Information, Communication and Digital Economy.
Other appointees include John Mbadi for National Treasury, Opiyo Wandayi for Energy, Hassan Joho for Mining, and Wycliffe Oparanya for Cooperatives.
The swearing-in ceremony for the 19 appointed Cabinet Secretaries will take place on Thursday at State House from 9 am.
However, the National Assembly rejected the nomination of Gender Cabinet Secretary nominee Stella Soi Lang'at. This was communicated to the House by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah while tabling the report on the vetting of cabinet nominees on Wednesday.
Ichung'wah stated, "Honorable Speaker, I beg to give notice of the following motion that taking into consideration the findings of the committee on appointments in its second report on the vetting of the nominees for appointment to the offices of Cabinet Secretaries laid on the table of the House today."
President Ruto is now required to submit a new nominee for the Gender docket.
